I hope you all had a lovely Memorial Day Weekend with friends and family! Sorry I have been a little MIA the last couple of days on the blog. I just needed a few days to unplug from the internet and social media to recharge my batteries a bit. It feels good to be back though, I have so many fun stories and product reviews lined up that I am sure you will love. It’s back to business starting today and first up, I wanted to discuss two affordable NYX Cosmetics palettes I have been using non-stop and have come to adore – The NYX “Avant Pop!” Nouveau Chic – Eye Shadow Palette & “Cream Highlight & Contour Palette”. After testing these two babies out for the past 2 weeks, I have come to the conclusion that they are well worth your hard earned cash and are a definite must-have for the beauty lover on a budget. The Avant Pop eye shadow palette I received in “Nouveau Chic” in-houses a mix of both matte and shimmer shadows that are perfect for an everyday neutral look, it even has some pops of color with the olive green, blue and purple eye shadows included within the palette. The shadow quality and formulation are in my opinion; the best NYX has come out with yet. They are creamy, pigmented and don’t have too much fall out. And truthfully, 10 rather large eye shadows like the ones in this palette for just $17.00 is an insane deal! Too hard to pass up! As for their “Cream Highlight & Contour Palette” In
Color: Light, this one is also a bang for your buck! You get three cream shades included in the palette, one to sculpt, one to highlight and one shimmer cream which you can apply to the highest points of the face to add a subtle glow. Personally, I prefer a powder contour rather than using a cream (I just think it’s easier to work with & less of a mess), but occasionally if I have extra time to do my makeup for an event or a night out, I like to pop open some cream contour palettes and experiment sculpting my face making it appear slimmer. This NYX palette is creamy (once the product warms up) and is smooth when applying onto the face with a flat or angled brush. And the palette itself is small enough to take on the go when traveling. I do feel like the formula can be just a bit more creamier than it already is, but again that just depends on your own personal preference. It’s a pretty good cream contour palette for just $15.00, a great price point for the amount of product you’re getting! What are some of your favorite NYX palettes?
