Today, I wanted to share with you the sole item I purchased from the MAC “Nutcracker Sweet” Collection. Although many of the items were lovely, I only had eyes for one thing, the “Copper Face Compact”. What’s so special about this particular compact you say? It houses the most desired highlighter in MAC’s history that’s pretty much almost impossible to find, “Whisper of Gilt”. That’s right, this ridiculously cute compact includes the limited edition shade that quickly sold out EVERYWHERE a few years ago and that MAC refuses to make a permanent stable in their line of cosmetics (to everyone’s dismay). When I found out this compact would have this notorious highlight, I just had to have it! Unfortunately, when the collection launched, it quickly sold out both online & in-store. I had to resort to searching through eBay until I found one that wasn’t too ridiculously priced. I was fortunate enough to find an excellent seller who also shipped the item quickly. I must say, both the “Whisper of Gilt” extra dimension skin finish & “Pleasure Model” blush included in this precious little compact are everything I expected and more. The highlighter is a beautiful pale gold shimmer that gives you the most gorgeous sheen as with all MAC’s extra dimension skin finishes (my favorite highlight formula). The long-lasting blush is a stunning peachy brown that looks lovely on medium skin tones. And can we take a moment to admire the packaging? Isn’t the fuchsia and burgundy color scheme just beautiful? I especially love the embroidered gold accents that ties this piece altogether with their holiday collection. There’s also a pretty large mirror included in the compact’s interior that’s bigger than what most other brands offer with a similar product. I am definitely ordering one or two more back-up’s of this item ASAP!
