Review: It Cosmetics CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation!

Happy Monday Beauties!

A very hot item in the beauty world right now is cushion foundations. From L’Oréal to Lancôme and now It Cosmetics, the market is being flooded with these types of compact travel-friendly foundations. I actually tried to purchase the L’Oréal cushion foundation at my local drugstore, but the shades that suit my skin tone always seemed to be sold out. I was pretty excited to receive one of the It Cosmetics fluid cushion foundations in the mail within a PR package to review on the blog for you guys! It Cosmetics “CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation” is available in only 5 shades (sucks for my darker ladies out there); I got color “Medium” which is the same shade I am in their famous CC+ cream.  And to be quite honest, this foundation felt very similar in consistency with their CC+ cream with just a bit more coverage. I was a little disappointed with the color selection because it’s a tad too dark for me right now. I think I should have gotten a shade lighter for this particular foundation, which is a little odd seeing as I am the shade “Medium” in most foundations I use. Maybe when the summer hits and I get a little more tan, I can use this product more frequently especially since it contains SP 50+ to protect the skin against the harsh summer rays.  As with most It Cosmetics products, this foundation also contains anti-aging properties and pure color pigments to even out the skin, minimize pores and eliminate those pesky fine lines. When you’re almost 30 years old like me, anything that hints at “anti-aging” will be an automatic plus in my book lol. My skin type is normal, but my t-zone can get pretty oily. Because of this, I always prep my skin before applying any type foundation with a mattifying primer. I also use a finishing powder to set my foundation for the rest of the day. With that being said, this cushion foundation is like many others out now, hydrating with a very luminous finish. It definitely leaves the skin with a dewy effect. If you want more of a matte finish or if you have an oily skin type, I would stay clear of this foundation altogether. I did have to touch up my t-zone a few times throughout the day when wearing this foundation which I didn’t like. I did however really like the packaging of this product. The foundation is incased in a white and silver compact with a mirror on the inside and a sort of divider that covers and protects the cushion sponge from any bacteria. It also came with a nice puff to apply the foundation, but as like most people, I prefer using a makeup brush or beauty blender to apply any liquid foundations. For my skin type, coverage and longevity, I rate this product a 6 out of 10, which lands just one point over the middle of the spectrum. Let me know down in the comments if you have tried this foundation and what your thoughts are 🙂

  1. oh wow this seem similar to the Laneige BB Cushion. Both have SPF 50 and have anti-aging properties..around the same price too! I did a review of the Laneige one on my blog and I love it but I feel like I must try this one and the L’oreal Lumi one. great, informative review xx
