Last week, I had the honor of attending and witnessing first hand, a British Beauty Invasion! And it was all in my very own back yard – The Concrete Jungle that is NYC lol! Downtown in the financial heart of the city (Wall Street), I had the privilege of mingling with some top beauty bloggers and beauty insiders inside the biggest Duane Reade Pharmacy I have ever stepped foot in! And we were all going crazy ga-ga for the brit brand that has completely taken over my heart – Boots Beauty. I can honestly sit here and tell you that Boots has quickly become one of my top favorite drugstore brands in the market right now. I can’t believe we literally just started seeing these products hit the US shelves about 2-3 years ago! It definitely was a hidden gem overseas for too long! Thank you my lovely brits for finally sharing the light with us! We all had the best time at this event! Whether it was the personalized foundation matching service that helped you find the color that best suits your skin tone, or the new product counters/displays or even the lipstick cocktail corner where beauty consultants helped you find the best lippie shade for your complexion – it was all a marvelous blur of kindness, convenience and practicality that made this experience so wonderfully pleasant! The drugstore is definitely kicking up their game by leaps and bounds and is seriously trying to compete and come head to head with retailers Sephora & Ulta in regards to offering similar high quality products/displays and services, but for drugstore prices! And what was even more surprising was when the Boots CEO came out and gave a little speech and discussed with us what Boots Beauty stood for, some of their history and where they saw the brand heading towards in the future. I thought this was so insightful and refreshing to see in person 🙂
The after party was a small and intimate gathering at a local pub a block away from the Duane Reade where everything kicked off. There were drinks, yummy appetizers and a beautiful 3-song set performance by the super talented “Marina & The Diamonds”! I think we got spoiled rotten, but in a good way! And I liked it haha! 🙂 I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to be included in such a great night of genuine beauty-addiction!
